What Pat said ....

With 53 crews in this round, no 1400s but a smattering of the 1900s, it was expected that the BMWs would beat the 205s.

Organiser Pat Flynn was out to win the rally outright in the Yokohama Evo 2, he was certainly on the pace, 5th on SS1 (with a puncture), while unofficial timing saw him 8 seconds up on eventual winner Gardner on ss2. Unfortunately 400 m from the end a too fast approach saw the Evo 2 plummet 55ft down a ravine. End of rally.

The same stage also claimed favourite Warren/Derek (see image right), with further drama when their car was hit by Daz Jones/Tony wrecking both cars.
Also off were Rob dillon/Shane with driveshaft trouble.

In the 205s Sean Crowley/Tim Currie were on it, a good return to form saw them blitzing the stages, with Hall/Flynn, Davison/Mayo and Corner/Greenwood all chasing hard, also posting quick times Winter Champions Russ Thompson/Andy Murphy although the Sweetlamb water lost them 90 seconds.

Ciro/Tim were a league ahead in the BMWs with a fab battle behind, between Andy/Liza Fox, Jim Dowle/Chris Gardner and Richie Felgate/Chris Lloyd, Toni/Sam right in there till problems hit them.

The 1900s saw Steve McPhee/Geno Cook leading from Fraser Stannard/Nic Cadwallader, Fraser dropping time later , Kit/Tim Leigh looking for a problem free run thru Mid Wales also lost time, but did get a strong 3rd place finish.

McPhee flew throwing the car thru bends with Cook using an unusual method of pace notes, he would call the note then scream at McPhee to go flat out till they both thought it time to brake, needless to say a lot of anxious moments Followed.

Peter Davies/Chris Brooks at last showed their true form setting a fastest stage time.Tim Daltry/Stuart powell again threw their 1900 into the trees, some notional times were applied that luckily didn't destroy crews results.
Sean/Tim took a well deserved win, with Dan/James, Kris/Ella taking 2 & 3.
Peter Davies/Chris took a great 4th, with Davison/Mayo 5th after a puncture in Sweet Lamb.

Andy Smith/Daz McDonald took top beginner Christine/Ian taking 2nd despite a roll and taking the lead in the beginners.
Kris/Ella took top inters, while poor John lloyd/Mark Mason blew a head gasket before the start, Robbie Pearson/Ewan leeming ahd cruel luck breaking a shaft on SS1 start.

Mat/Daz Smith were setting amazing times till an alternator gave up.
Ciro/Tim took the BMW honours, with Andy/Liza 2nd, then Jim/Chris., Richie /Ray, while Richie Knott/Kathy Barton took 5th.
