Organisers Forward

This year we have retained our enthusiastic sponsor, Rally Marketing of Welshpool and with the help of our other advertisers, we once again have been able to keep the entry fee at a very competitive level.

Voted ANWCC Rally of the Year 2004; We expect the entry list to fill up quickly, therefore please get your entry in early to avoid disappointment. In order to assist competitors we have decided to allow the entry fee to be paid in two installments.

Finally we would like to take this opportunity to thank local Forestry Officers, the local Police Forces, the Motor Sports Association, local inhabitants, officials, marshals, Safety and Rescue crews, all our supporters and others who assist in running the event.

We look forward to greeting friends, old and new, in Newtown in June. Good luck from the organising team. On behalf of the organising committee:

What Pat said ....

Fantastic event, with some great stories and some real bad luck stories, just a quick gloss over before i get to my much needed bed,
Chris Bayliss/Mark Mason took a fantastic win overall, while Poor Phil McVay/Nic Cadwallader retired just 2 miles from the end with no oil pressure while leading!.

Stanny /Neil were flying early on but although fastest on SS1 a head gasket failing finished them on SS2., 18 yr old Ed Robinson/John Youd took a strong 2nd ahead of a great drive by Gaz Nutt/Kev haven who took a couple of stages to wake, Craig pearce/Rob had terrible electrical problems, as Steve Hancke/Samantha Richardson took the novice win, ahead of a flying Si Rees/Dan Mayo, who also took the West Mids best improvement on seeeding award.

Andy Davison/Sandie and Rob Wilson/Dylan had a ding dong scrap all day to finish 4th and 5th, while Tom Jones/Kev Winslade took their 3rd Beginners win.

The BMWs saw a new winner with Steve /Ben Cressey taking a cracking win, while Warren/Derek were leading and in a unbelievable 9th Overall after 3 stages, they retired on SS4, Mike and Gordon Bradley took 2nd with Graham White/Martin Cooper 3rd, Toni Carannante/Si Coates took 4th after another eventful day, with Gaz Buckingham/Jez Kemp getting a great 5th spot . Andy/Liza Fox scored 6th on their debut. While fellow debs Steve Long/Wendy Gibson were about to call it a day, but were nagged into ratchet strapping their engine together for a great finish. Pete Jackson/Keiran O neill, shower great form, in the top 3 BMWs but retired 1 mile from home, when the battery leaked all its acid out, they went OTL,
