What a stunning result, 18 yr old takes 205 Challenge win and 2nd overall
on the rally, Ed Robinson with John Youd took a start to finish victory
on the Mainline Hixon stages. In the 1400 Paul Dark/Marc Williams took
the honours after all crews agreed to run on tarmac tyres throughout
the event.
Celebrity Driver Justin Dale paired up with Pat Flynn, to entertain
, the pair egged each other onto faster and faster, with both Dale and
Flynn each setting a fastest 205 time and indeed both 2nd overall times,
behind Rally winner Andy Corners 205 Mi16.
The weather was very changeable and Robinson went out on Hankook knobblies,
while his rivals went for Hankook Tar tyres, Robinson stole an early
advantage that he kept to the end.
Nearly all the 205s came back with damage. I am sure many more stories
will come out but i must say i am proud of everyone, you are all stars,
i have not seen such committed driving in a long time.
